Belinda Pauley

Expertise: All categories of J-1 exchange visitor visas.

Education: A.A.S. Administrative Support Technology, New River Community College; Member of NAFSA; Participated in many trainings, workshops, and certification programs involving U.S. immigration regulations and advising.

Experience Summary: Belinda has worked with the international community at Virginia Tech for 24 years.  She currently serves as the Responsible Officer (RO) for the university.  Prior to her employment in the Office of International Support Services, she served as a Designated School Official (DSO) and Alternate Responsible Officer (ARO) at the university working specifically with international undergraduate students.  As the J-1 Program Manager in the ISS Office, she serves as the immigration advisor and RO for J-1 Scholars and Student Interns. Belinda also interfaces with state and federal agencies such as the Division of Motor Vehicles, the Social Security Administration, and many others assisting the international community in navigating these services.  Belinda has been involved with all aspects of international advising including orientation, visa status issues, programming, and helping to ensure foreign nationals have a rewarding educational and cultural experience in the United States.
