J-1 GSS Processing Fee Information

Effective 1/1/2015, all requests for J-1 Initial, Transfer-in, and Extension cases processed by GSS are subject to an internal processing fee.

• The processing fee for the Scholar categories (Short-Term Scholar, Research Scholar, and Professor) is $100.
• The processing fee for the Student Intern category is $100.
• The processing fee for J-2 dependents is $100 for each dependent.

GSS fee payment instructions are sent to the departments after the processing is done.

All initial, extension and transfer-in J-1 requests submitted in Sunapsis with a program start date on or after July 1 2024 will be subject to increased GSS fee of $150 per individual in the request.
