Creating Visitor's ID/PID

When J-status visiting researchers arrive, they may need a Virginia Tech PID. (Those who have had a PID in the past will not need a new one.)

• If paid by Virginia Tech, the PID can be created through 4help once the work position is entered into banner.
• If NOT paid by Virginia Tech, the PID can be created by an employee of VT (faculty member or program area admin).

Note: GSS IntlHokiesportal is NOTconnected with the VT system. Once you have obtained PID and wish to use network ID login, you need to first let GSS know so we can update the information to your profile.
