Craigslist: Craigslist is an online forum for buying and selling just about anything.  It is a good place to look for apartments, but you should wait until you arrive, see the apartment, and meet the landlord to enter into any apartment contracts.  Use caution when using Craigslist and other internet sites; beware of scammers.
